The Sunshine Boys (2005)

In arguably his most challenging role to date, Scott entertained audiences as the ever kind, but always frustrated Ben Silverman in The Sunshine Boys. With an amazing cast lead by theatre veterans Jim Harmuth as Willie Clark, and Carl Wells as Al Lewis, The Sunshine Boys wowed audiences at OnStage In Bedford's 2005 Production of the Neil Simon comedy. Also, as photos show at the bottom of this page, Scott had the great opportunity to see Dick Van Patten perform in The Sunshine Boys in Stoneham, Massachusetts (just outside of Boston). Thanks to the Stoneham cast for allowing Scott to meet them after the show, and for allowing him to steal as much as he could from their production!

Ben Silverman and Willie Clark

Ben looks on as Willie exclaims that he "has a terrific face for an upset stomach." Unfortunately, Ben had already submitted Willie for auditions for Alka Seltzer commercials twenty times! But with no luck due to Willie's reputation for forgetting lines.

Willie, despite a great deal of animosity toward his former comedic partner, explains to Ben that Al was the best! The best!
"So what do I tell CBS," Ben asks. "No deal because Al Lewis Spits?"

Ben continues to convince Willie to do the Doctor Sketch once more with Al Lewis.
"Let me call him on the phone. Let me set up a rehearsal time for Monday."

They say that when you're staring death in the face, your whole life flashes before you. But in Willie's case what flashed before him was the name of the chips that he failed to remember costing him a Frito Lays commercial.
"That's right, Uncle Willie, just lie there. You're gonna be alright."

Ben Silverman and Al Lewis

As Willie makes tea in the kitchen, Ben listens as Al itemizes what he and Willie will need for the Doctor Sketch.
"Which props are those, Mr. Lewis?"
Ah Sticks?
Look Sticks?
What kind of liver?

"You know a blonde nurse that's a man?" Al asks.
"Big, with a big chest, and a nice round bottom."
"Show me some pictures and I'll pick one out."

Ben readies to leave Al and Willie alone - not knowing what their first rehearsal will produce - an incredible reuniting of great vaudevillians? Or a monumental disaster that could ruin Ben's career as an agent?

"We're not going to stop for every little thing are we?" asks Al of Willie.

A cheap Photoshop job with Al and Willie on the Ed Sullivan show. Six times Ed said "How 'bout that?"

Stick out your tongue and say "Ahh!"
