The Mikado (2000)
Five sellouts in six shows made MTD's 2000 production of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado, one of the biggest successes in the company's 15 years of existence; and was the best-selling show at MTD since Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1998).
The highlight of the performance for me (and perhaps of my limited amateur theatrical career) was the fact that a 6:30 pm trip to the Denton Regional Medical Center's emergency room due to a severe asthma attack, didn't keep me from performing in the 7:30 pm show. A special thanks goes to the cast, crew, and production staff of the Mikado for their support and prayers during the final weekend of shows in which the biggest question was "Will Scott be able to breathe during this performance?"

My "team" of dressers sees to it that my costume doesn't reveal a little too
much Koko.
I?...Marry Katisha?!?!

The lovely and talented Loretta Crosthwaite as my dominating fiancée.

Spare time during rehearsals often meant
taking stupid self-pictures like this one.

Director John Everts finally cracks a smile -
realizing that this, being the final performance,
means that he didn't have to go on in place of his asthma-stricken "star."

Bassoonist Randy Wood shares a moment with
his brother
at the end of their first production together.
